As this year comes to a close, we would like to take a moment to let you know how grateful we are to have you as a part of the Nutmeg community.
Since our start in August 2012, we have spayed/neutered over 53,000 cats and dogs. Your support has played a tremendous role in our success.
We want to share some stories to demonstrate our commitment to the community.
Meet Bella and Nugget
Bella
Bella’s mom, Autumn, discovered that she was unwell. After a visit to an emergency facility, Bella was diagnosed with a pyometra. Pyometra is a life-threatening disorder that can occur in unspayed female cats and dogs. The only cure for pyometra is an emergency spay. Realizing that the services, if performed at the emergency clinic, were cost-prohibitive, she was referred to Nutmeg. After surgery, along with other supportive care, Bella has recovered fully. We are happy we are here for patients like Bella and her mom, Autumn.
Nugget
Answering a request for help from a neighbor, we met Nugget. She had shown up in the yard, and it was apparent that she needed help. Nugget remained elusive, but she was finally trapped and brought to Nutmeg. What was unknown was that Nugget was growing some little nuggets of her own and gave birth to three kittens before her surgery. Fast forward, and with lots of collaboration, Nugget and her three kittens were placed in rescue, where they will go on to find loving homes. We are glad we were able to be a part of Nuggets’ journey.
Your support allows us to keep our prices within reach and have pets get the care they might otherwise go without.
We can do all of this because of you. As this year ends, please consider donating so we can continue being there for pets in need.
From all of us at Nutmeg, we wish you and your loved ones peace, joy, health, and happiness in the new year.
With gratitude,
Clara and the Nutmeg Team
